Happy Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving!
Those of us in the U.S. offices of Shen Milsom & Wilke will be celebrating Thanksgiving this week. It is a favorite holiday of mine, I love getting together with family, cooking, and sharing a meal together.
Statistically the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel days of the year in the U.S. For the first time in 13 years I will not be traveling for Thanksgiving, which I am quite happy about. I know the Amtrak trains are always sold out along the Northeast Corridor for Thanksgiving.
Do you travel or do you stay local for the holiday?
Also, different parts of the country always seem to serve different dishes known to their area for Thanksgiving. My dad's side of the family makes sauerkraut every year (I don't know why), but it seems to be common in Baltimore. My mom lived in the South for awhile so she always cooks a sweet potato casserole with pecans on top. This year is my first year having Thanksgiving with my husband as a married couple, so we compromised with our Thanksgiving day menu and decided we are going to make the best dishes from both of our families.
Is there a special dish that your family makes, or a dish that is popular to serve on Thanksgiving in your area of the country?
Are there any traditions that you always have for Thanksgiving?
I wish everybody a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
