Shen Milsom & Wilke Announces 2014 Staff Promotions
SM&W is immensely proud and appreciative of the work and effort of all our employees. The following individuals have been recognized for their exceptional dedication and passion. They bring a level of performance that is commendable and most appreciated. We are pleased to announce the following staff promotions:
Robert Haddad | Principal
Rob Haddad has over 20 years of security planning, design, and project management experience. He joined SM&W in 2005 and serves as the firm wide leader of the security discipline. Mr. Haddad specializes in the implementation of integrated security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and perimeter control. His security system planning and design projects range across many business sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, government, education, finance, museums and galleries, and resort properties in the US and abroad. Recent projects include the National Library of Latvia; The Four Seasons in Bahrain; the J. Michael Ruane Judicial Center in Salem, MA; Jing An Tower in Shanghai; Bancomer Tower in Mexico City; Schwarzman College in Beijing; and the University Teaching Hospital in Dubai.

Mr. Haddad earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and is a member of BICSI and the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS).

Robert Badenoch | Associate Principal
Robert Badenoch joined SM&W in 2000 and has over 15 years of experience in audiovisual systems design. He specializes in performing arts, broadcast, and educational facilities. He has presented at various conferences on the design of technology systems for the performing arts, specifically regarding curriculum-driven design for education as well as architectural integration of technology. He balances his design efforts at SM&W with sound and video production work in New York City theater and music venues, thus maintaining a direct connection to the needs of facility users and performers.

Projects have included a media retrieval system for the New York Library of Performing Arts; a concert venue with distance learning capability at Carnegie Hall; and HDTV production studios for the media arts curriculum at Kuwait University. Currently, Rob is technology project manager and lead audiovisual designer for the NYU Abu Dhabi campus; he leads a team of staff from SM&W’s New York, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, and Dubai offices.

Mr. Badenoch earned his Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University. In 2013, ENR New York recognized him as a “Top 20 Under 40 Rising Star”. He is a Member of the Audio Engineering Society and Syn-Aud-Con.

Tyson Leonard, RCDD | Associate Principal
Tyson Leonard is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer. He has been with SM&W since 2008 and leads the firm’s Texas operations. He has experience with extensive IT infrastructure and systems projects, including design and implementation oversight responsibilities. Projects include the Apache Corporate Headquarters Building, Houston, TX; Southwestern Energy Campus, Spring, TX; LaGuardia International Airport-Central Terminal Building; Deloitte University in Westlake, TX; and the Dallas Convention Center.

In addition to his numerous certifications and professional affiliations, Mr. Leonard is passionate about aviation facilities. He is an active participant of the Business Information Technologies (BIT) Committee for the Airport Council International North America (ACI-NA) and attends the annual conference.

Russell Wood | Associate Principal
Russell Wood has 22 years of experience in the security industry and is responsible for leading SM&W’s operations in the GCC Region. Based in our Dubai office, Mr. Wood provides planning, design, and implementation oversight of integrated systems, including Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVA), security management, planning and assessment, threat analysis, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, perimeter control and control room monitoring design. Recent projects include the Ministry of the Interior Headquarters, Saudi Arabia; Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia; Bahrain Petroleum Company; the Ministry of Labour, High Commission on International Security-NCP, Saudi Arabia; the Zayed Military Hospital, Abu Dhabi; Dubai Union Museum; and the Park Hyatt Zamani Palace Hotel in Zanzibar.

Mr. Wood received his BSc (Hons) in Risk and Security Management from the University of Portsmouth. He is a member of the Institute of Criminal Justice Studies and of the IEEE.

Adam Koch | Associate Principal
Adam has been with SM&W since 2007 and has served as Project Administrator. In his role as a conduit between our design team and back office supporting functions, Adam is intimately involved with helping develop systems and processes to ensure greater consistency across the firm’s offices and services as the company continues its growth into new markets. Adam is also responsible for day to day administration on the firm’s largest projects.

In his new role as Associate Principal, Operations & Corporate Development, Adam will work closely with the leadership team in helping drive the firm’s major initiatives. These efforts will include a focus on continuing to grow client satisfaction, identifying and implementing strategies to support the company’s sources of competitive advantage, and introducing internal policies aimed at driving employee growth on a project by project basis.

Adam received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2013 he completed his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business, where he specialized in finance, management and marketing.
