The new Transit Center stretches for five blocks along Mission Street, one block south of the city’s Financial District; extending the existing Caltrain Station to the new terminal. It includes a sustainable a 2.2-hectare (5.4-acre) rooftop city park.
The project has transformed the area and created a Grand Central Station of the West, centralizing the region’s transportation network by accommodating eleven transit systems under one roof: AC Transit, Caltrain, Muni, Golden Gate Transit, SamTrans, Greyhound, BART, WestCAT and the future High Speed Rail.
