Accounting Coordinator

Shen Milsom & Wilke, LLC is seeking an Accounting Coordinator with 2+ years of experience to join our New York City Office. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and someone who is seeking a challenging opportunity. Strong written and organizational skills and attention to detail are required.  The candidate will primarily be responsible for processing employee expense reports and collections.

Responsibilities:

  • Process employee expense reports for reimbursement by reviewing and ensuring submissions are compliant with company expense policies.
  • Requests additional supporting documents and approvals as needed.
  • Ensures purchases are coded to appropriate general ledger accounts.
  • Contact clients regarding outstanding or past-due receivables while maintaining and providing excellent customer relationships and service.
  • Address and resolve credits and short payments.
  • Maintain accurate collection notes on past-due accounts.
  • Assist with all internal and external requests.
  • Perform similar and related duties as assigned.

Experience/Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 2 years of previous billing and payables accounting experience is required.
  • Experience working with Deltek VantagePoint is an advantage.
  • Experience in the AEC industry is plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Detail Oriented and highly organized.
  • Strong understanding of Billing/Accounting procedures.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills; strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as client contacts.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.

 Annual Salary Range:

$55k – $65K:  Dependent on skills, experience, and region.
