SM&W Contribution

George Mason University’s Founders Hall is the second phase in a three-phase Arlington Campus master plan. It connects Hazel Hall, which was completed in 1998 as part of Phase I, to the campus’s original building, which will be replaced in Phase III.

The Arlington Campus expansion project offers additional space to the School of Law, which sits in the U.S. top forty. Founders Hall also provides office, administrative and classroom space to the School of Public Policy, the School of Management, the College of Education and Human Development, the College of Health and Human Sciences, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

In addition to offices and classrooms, this project provided a general purpose library that contains 100,000 volumes, a 300-seat auditorium, a 5,670-square-foot multipurpose room and computer laboratories. SM&W’s audiovisual experts provided infrastructure design with a program of requirements and space planning for all classrooms and specialty spaces. Our IT specialists provided full IT infrastructure design, including outside plant and a connection to the Phase I building.
