Located in the historic lower downtown area of Denver, the contemporary 16M included four floors of luxury apartments, 130,000 square feet of office space and 15,000 square feet of ground-level retail. Various amenities support residents, such as a rooftop deck and a fitness center. The completed facility earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Shen Milsom & Wilke acousticians concentrated on interior sound isolation and exterior heating, ventilation and air-conditioning noise control. The building’s cooling tower and garage exhaust fan radiated noise to an adjacent residential tower. Working with an attenuator manufacturer, we provided custom attenuators to meet and exceed the allowable noise levels at the property line.
