Montefiore Hutchinson Campus’s new ambulatory care center included 12 operating rooms, a diagnostic imaging suite, seven floors of specialty clinics, an outpatient laboratory and a pharmacy. The project required a high level of consultancy. The building brought together specialties scattered among multiple campuses. In some cases, these specialties were expansions of existing services, which resulted in a higher number of meetings with both migrating staff and staff that wouldn’t need to relocate.
SM&W medical equipment planners coordinated with Montefiore project managers, clinical administrators and materials managers to procure and install over 7,000 medical equipment items. We supported the purchasing department with vendor negotiations, resulting in several million dollars in savings. Montefiore Health System used this knowledge to modify their overall supply chain management.
