SM&W Contribution
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) provided acoustic, IT Infrastructure, and medical equipment planning design and consulting services for the renovation and modernization of the catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories at North Shore University’s Hospital in Manhasset, NY. The project called for the replacement of six of the catheterization and electrophysiology labs, replacing and upgrading the equipment, resulting in three catheterization labs and three EP labs throughout a 2-year project timeline.
The cardiac catheterization labs are equipped with an assortment of GE Healthcare Innova x-ray systems. These include the 20 x 20cm flat-panel Innova 2100 system and the 31cm square Innova 3100 system, which both serve as the primary cardiac X-ray systems and can be used for renal and carotid imaging as well. The hospital’s largest system, Innova 4100 is exceptional for performing peripheral vascular work. These equipment upgrades allow staff to better accommodate peripheral vascular cases with the ability to adapt to patient growth in the future.
