Philadelphia 76ers Practice Facility Renovation

SM&W Contribution

Shen Milsom & Wilke provided audiovisual consulting expertise for the Philadelphia 76ers Practice Facility located in Camden, NJ. The doors to the Sixers’ new training complex are officially open, welcoming players into the 125,000-square-foot facility designed to be a one-stop basketball shop comprised of two buildings, the Practice Facility and the Office Building. The complex was built with the intention of becoming a “year-round destination”, requiring the design team to take each aspect of daily life into consideration to provide players and staff with the resources they need on hand in Camden.

Key elements of SM&W’s contribution to this ultimate basketball training facility include the sound system throughout all player areas. House sound is distributed via a Haivision IPTV system, and players can connect their personal devices wirelessly via an Apple TV device per space. A 12-camera court capture system with video on demand and camera controls accessible anywhere in the facility allows multiple camera angles to be composited and played back in simultaneous, multi-image operations. A Player’s Video Review room adjacent to the courts includes a dual-view screen that can be viewed from either side, on the court, or in the room. Conference rooms and offices are equipped with oversized flat panel displays with IPTV, wired, and wireless sources, while digital signage displays throughout open office, fitness, and restaurant areas provide news, announcements, and directions to players and visitors.
