Police Commissioner’s Conference Room

SM&W Contribution

This project is comprised of a single conference room with 20 seats plus perimeter seating. The purpose of the room is to provide real-time data to the occupants, allowing for rapid change and response to changes in situational awareness.

The conference room, surrounded on all four walls with video displays as indicated above, configured as a single virtual desktop. Access to well over 1,000 sources of information inclusive of database, live camera feeds, television, video conferencing – any and all sources one could think of is readily available with control and access via a complex content management system.

Selecting the various sources of information occurs at multiple levels, first a series of presets have been established to address a series of daily briefings. Each preset defines a segment of wallboard real estate that has been populated with a variety of sources, each source providing on-line data. These presets can be called up at the touch of the touchscreen located at the head of the table along with selecting additional sources, locating those sources on any of the four walls. A workstation has been provided for technical support, where overall systems operation and configuration takes place.
