The University of Hawaii’s new Information Technology Center consolidated IT administration, operations and support. Located in the heart of the Manoa Campus on the island of Oahu, the building merged operations that were distributed amongst eight locations.
The information technology center accommodated the system-wide data infrastructure, IT public services facilities and administrative office spaces and houses a small, divisible emergency operations center (war room) and the university’s main data center. The project replaced obsolete equipment and addressed information technology needs that support instruction, research and administration. The U.S. Green Building Council awarded the building a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification.
