Shen Milsom & Wilke provided audiovisual and physical security design expertise for the second phase of the Multipurpose center for the Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services. Phase II consisted of the Dulles South Recreation and Community Center, totaling 99,000 square feet, and includes a 50-meter competition pool with diving boards and stadium seating, a leisure pool with lazy river and slides, a fitness area with the latest weight equipment, mobility training areas, a specialized core area, a basketball court, fitness/dance spaces, an elevated jogging track, a rock climbing wall, and typical locker and storage space.
SM&W’s security and audiovisual team worked to finalize the project’s construction documents, reviewing existing documentation from years prior and contributing final design and specifications, while also providing bidding and construction administration design services. Our security design included CCTV, access control, intrusion detection system, and all headend equipment. Some of our audiovisual equipment and systems included flat panel displays in almost all fitness areas, ceiling-mounted speakers throughout the facility, and room control keypads and touch panels.
The third and final phase will add a co-located senior center to the facility, to which SM&W also worked on.
