SM&W Contribution

New York State Police Troop G has relocated its headquarters to a new site. The new campus will accommodate the Troop G Headquarters, Troop G Forensic Identification Unit, and Troop G Vehicle Maintenance Facility, and the Troop G Quartermaster Operation as well as a relocated DOT Region 1 headquarters. The campus will be located on 43 acres in the town of Colonie, New York. The facility is 85,000 sf and has a construction budget of $44 Million.

The headquarters includes a communications center and evidence processing unit. New York State Police will run operations for 10 counties out of this new building, and it is expected to be a “model facility for policing in the 21st century.” One of the new tools available for NYSP and DOT Region 1 will be a combined operations center providing them with the latest situational awareness data to manage the region.

SM&W provided audiovisual, acoustical and telecommunications and data center consulting services on the very important project on the outskirts of Albany NY.

...SM&W has proven itself to be a wonderful addition to the team, you have continued to be our ally and have shown tremendous support and dedication to our agency, and myself. In my experience that is something hard to come by, SM&W should be proud to be that company. It would be a privilege to work with you again and I very much look forward to it.
