SM&W Contribution
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) has delivered multiple schemes for O’Melveny & Myers (OMM) globally, with this being our first project in London. SM&W was engaged to deliver audiovisual, IT and security for OMM’s new London office. This project was a design and build contract.
The audiovisual scope comprised three spaces: a 12-person meeting room, an 8-person meeting room, and a large multifunctional divisible space designed to support meetings, events, and flexible working modes. A key challenge of the project was adapting O’Melveny & Myers’ global standards to suit the project constraints while preserving the quality, reliability, and user experience expected of a global law firm. The meeting rooms were designed around Poly conferencing systems, ensuring alignment with OMM’s wider UC architecture and providing a consistent user experience. The IT infrastructure required a hybrid approach of re-using existing and running in new horizontal data. SM&W maximized the existing infrastructure to ensure the most cost-effective approach to delivering a high-speed infrastructure for the client.
The Security systems in this case were comprised of IP CCTV cameras, card-based access control system and a linked intercom system. SM&W worked with Overbury to ensure the Security system was well integrated within the built environment. SM&W also worked closely with Gardiner & Theobold to develop the project through RIBA Stage 2 design, establishing a robust technical foundation aligned with OMM’s standards. The SM&W London team visited the site as it built over a five-month period, to ensure that the installation works were on schedule and in line with the expected level of quality.
Our scope was completed once our team did a full witness testing of all systems within our scope, to the point where all systems were installed and ready for use by the customer. SM&W completed this project in January 2026.
