SM&W Contribution
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) provided audiovisual and information technology infrastructure consulting expertise for the Sarah Lawrence College (SLC) Siegal Center project. The project is a renovation of SLC previous food court/ “Pub” building. The Siegal Center provides new spaces for students, faculty, and guests to relax, study, eat and meet.
Community discussions highlighted that the repurposed Siegel Center—with its distinctive layout—offered an ideal opportunity to establish a vital and much-needed hub: a space to practice and share traditions, engage across differences, foster connection, build mutual understanding, and come together over shared meals. The HUB now houses the Spiritual Space, Common Ground, the LGBTQIA Space, and WSLC, the college radio station. It also features communal areas open to all students, two kitchens (including one that is kosher/halal certified), a shared dining area, welcoming lounge spaces, and three offices for student support staff.
SM&W was able to coordinate with the client and design teams to provide cost effective designs while staying within the project’s budget and schedule.
