SM&W Contribution
Shen Milsom & Wilke (SM&W) is providing consulting expertise to the University of California at Berkeley by aiding them in the construction of a new, on campus facility, to support companies working to mitigate and remove greenhouse gases. The project structure is 5 stories tall and covers approximately 130,000 square feet. The facility will be adaptable to the needs of startup firms working in chemistry and material science. The spaces within the structure will be typical labs, needing basic and complex equipment.
SM&W’s acoustical contribution will consist of work on the base building and the interiors of spaces. Our acoustical staff will work to establish proper acoustical environments, ensuring that noise and vibration is properly mitigated between spaces.
Specific to audiovisual recommendations, SM&W will be providing services on a number of spaces within the building: the studio, conference rooms, huddle rooms, video conference rooms, common spaces, amenity spaces, and a symposium space. We will aid in the design of presentation and conference systems within said rooms, as well as provide services on digital signage and custom video walls.
