Four Seasons Private Residences 706 Mission Acoustical Analysis

San Francisco, CA

SM&W Contribution

Shen Milsom & Wilke provided acoustical consulting expertise to address exterior to interior sound isolation per California Title 24 requirements to the new residential development at 706 Mission Street. The project involved a rehabilitation and integration of the historic Aronson Building, originally built in 1903, connected to a new 43-story residential tower. The project also includes ground level retail/restaurant shell space, and conversion of existing parking spaces to allow for more public and private parking.

SM&Ws involvement describes current and predicted future outdoor noise conditions at the site of the 706 Mission Street residential development and provides mitigation recommendations to meet Title 24 Part II, California Building Code (CBC), and City of San Francisco interior noise level requirements.  All results and recommendations are based on measurements of ambient noise at the site, a SoundPLAN 3D noise propagation modeling analysis.

The project is currently under construction, and was designed to meet a minimum of LEED Silver certification.
