SM&W Contribution
The SUNY Upstate Health & Wellness Center is a 6 story outpatient facility located on SUNY’s downtown campus. Engaged by Stantec, SM&W was brought on for medical equipment planning services for the 358,000 SF facility. The goal behind the new Health & Wellness Center is to provide patients with a one-stop-shop, where they can receive primary care, specialty care, and wellness services all under one roof.
Located next to the Upstate Cancer Center, this facility creates the opportunity to combine multiple medical visits into to one location as 12 clinics will be relocated to the main campus. The clinics consist of Adult Medicine, Behavioral Health, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, Global Health, Immune Health, Joslin Diabetes Center, Pediatrics, Pharmacy, Radiology and University Internists. The facility will provide more than 350 exam and consultation rooms in totality.
With advances in medical care and convenience, this new facility will help to eliminate stress while saving time for the patient.
This project is being designed to achieve LEED Gold and WELL Building certification.
