Joining SM&W in 2008, Tom Edge brings more than sixteen years of experience in the audiovisual industry to the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

He began his career as a recording engineer at one of the city’s largest studios, where he worked with renowned artists such as Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow. From there, Tom transitioned into high-end residential AV design and installation, creating systems for some of Washington’s most prominent figures, before moving into the commercial sector, where he designed, engineered, and managed AV systems for government, higher education, and corporate clients.

Tom’s extensive hands-on experience naturally progressed into project and operational leadership roles. As a project manager, he has overseen the installation of multimillion-dollar audiovisual systems, and as an executive, he has directed operations and installation departments for several of the region’s leading integrators, most recently serving as Vice President of Strategic Operations.

Before entering the AV industry, Tom was a public-school music teacher, instructing students from third through twelfth grade. He remains an active musician in the Baltimore–Washington area.
